Top Executives Attend
E-Scrap 2007
E-Scrap 2007: The North
American Electronics Recycling Conference was held October 24 and 25
in Atlanta, Georgia at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta. PC Recycler Inc.
sent two top executives to discuss and hear new ideas including
analyses of stewardship systems and trends in the US and Canada,
e-scrap collection issues, recycling market factors, and legislative
policy considerations.
This event is the premier
electronics recycling conference in North America. The conference
format and tradeshow provide a shared setting and numerous
networking opportunities. The 2006 conference, held last October in
Austin, Texas, attracted more than 750 attendees from over a dozen
countries.
Presentations were given
by leading experts in the electronics field. Several workshops were
also held in conjunction with E-Scrap 2007. These workshops included
the Electronics Recycling Education program which was sponsored by
the International Electronics Recycling Institute and the National
Center for Electronics Recycling.
In addition to
informative sessions, the tradeshow exhibited the latest innovations
and service offerings from firms providing recovery opportunities,
consulting services and markets for e-scrap materials.
“It was interesting to
attend a conference that was so saturated in information on our
industry. I was able to learn and discuss current issues about
electronics recycling with a variety of people who are in the same
field. Conferences and face-to-face meetings to discuss the issues
of electronics recycling are pivotal to this field because there are
no industry-wide standards,” said Jeremy Farber, President of PC
Recycler, Inc.
This conference was an
opportunity to update those in the recycling industry about current
issues. The latest information was presented to attendants for the
purpose of expanding their services.
