Hard Drive Shredding

PC Recycler’s mobile on-site shredding provides clean, quiet and speedy secure shredding services of hard drives, cell phones, backup tapes, DLT, LTO,  thumb drives and other data storage devices anywhere in the United States. The process may be witnessed by a designated client representative to ensure all organizational protocols are met and they do not even need to leave the office.

We can shred on-site 1000lbs of metal and plastic per hour and can control the shred size to meet different government regulations.  Our shredder has been mounted in one of our box trucks using a proprietary system.  Our hard drive shredding process has been independently verified and audited for the industry's best practices.

After the initial hard drive shredding process has been completed, all destroyed materials are then securely transported back to one of PC Recycler’s processing facilities to undergo the firm’s Zero Landfill, Zero Export treatment.

Tape Shredding

The on-site shredding process is also suitable for backup tapes, cassettes, VHS tapes, and reel to reel tapes.  The tape shredding process is fast and absolute.  We can shred 2000lbs of magnetic tapes per hour on-site.  The shredding size can be controlled to reach the desired size for government or customer regulations.

Degaussing

We provide both on-site and off-site hard drive, backup LTO and DLT tape degaussing services. Two types of degaussers can be used for optimum data destruction, and each is approved by the National Security Agency (NSA). Our hard drive and tape degaussing service options are fully compliant with all National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication Series 800-88 and National Industrial Security Program (NISP) Operating Manual (DOD 5220.22-M). Both devices are re-certified annually by the manufacturer.

Certified Destruction

All serial numbers of processed and destroyed items are recorded by PC Recycler proprietary data collection software and handhelds for audit and accountability purposes. An inventory list is then provided to each client, along with a Certificate of Destruction, notarized and signed by a PC Recycler officer. This Certificate is a nationally recognized legal document of performance.
