PC Recycler Inc.’s dedication to its community mission includes the extension of its resources to residents of all areas who wish to securely recycle their personal electronics in a way that does not harm the environment. PC Recycler understands that by providing a green alternative to the computer recycling dilemma, this allows many in the community to help reduce their personal carbon footprint. More than two million pounds of electronics have been collected at our Chantilly, VA location since Community Collection’s inception in 2005. This event is the only opportunity for residents to use PC Recycler's wide range of services.
PC Recycler will be working with WFCM Food Pantry to collect much needed food and toiletries for our neighbors in need. Helping WFCM Food Pantry builds a greater cause to protect our environment -- with these donations, we will be starting within our own communities to create a better environment for all of us. Please feel free to read more information about WFCM Food Pantry.
As an incentive for helping WFCM Food Pantry, PC Recycler will be accepting these food and toiletry items as currency in exchange for our recycling and data destruction fees. When you come to our Residential Recycling Drop Off Event on January 9th, please bring cans and sealed boxes of food that are date coded 2009 or 2010.
January 2010 Donation Ideas:
For every food and toiletry item donated, we will subtract $0.50 from your fees. For example -- if you bring 3 cans of vegetables, you will receive a $1.50 discount. Please see more about our fees below.
PC Recycler processes just about anything that plugs in.
At this event, we charge for Monitors ($10 each), Televisions ($10-30 each), and Hard Drive Destruction (per hard drive). Please see our List of Acceptable Items and Basic Fee List for more information.
For a complete list of the items that we accept and any fees that are charged, please see our List of Acceptable Items.
Each event also offers hard drive shredding while you watch. A trained PC Recycler employee will remove the hard disk drive from your computer, laptop or server while you watch. The hard drive is then dropped into our large industrial shredder and ground down to little pieces. The process only takes a few minutes. You will leave with the peace of mind that your information is gone forever. A small fee of $10.00 is charged for each hard drive that is shredded.
PC Recycler has partnered with a leading on-site paper shredding company, TrueShred, in our area. We are now offering paper shredding services for all participants of our monthly event. If you need paper shredding services, please make plans to attend our event. The cost will be $10 per Regular Bankers Box (10"x12"x15").
Representatives from our partner company will be present at the event to address any questions that you may have about paper shredding needs. Our partner will have their paper shredding truck on-site at the event, so you can watch your sensitive documents get destroyed.
We send out monthly email reminders about computer recycling and paper shredding events that we are having. If you would like a monthly reminder email, please enter your information below:
Our computer recycling events are for all residents of Virginia (VA including but not restricted to Fairfax County, Herndon, Alexandria, Arlington, Reston), Washington DC, Maryland (MD) and any surrounding areas. Our events are very well attended so please expect to wait a few minutes before we are able to help you unload your recyclables. The unloading area consists of two of our loading dock doors. We ask that you back your car into the unloading area. Usually, a line of cars forms while waiting to back into our unloading area, so please follow the car in front of you. We will have staff to help you unload your car if you have heavy items.
To speed up the process, we ask that you download and print the following computer recycling form. This form helps us keep track of how many people attended the event, how much material we collected, and report to government agencies the amount of material that we recycled and where it came from.
The event is from 10am to 2pm sharp. At 2pm we will mark the last car in line. If you arrive after 2pm, then you will be turned away. Please arrive before 2pm to drop off your items for recycling.

I went to the PC Recycler collection event they had in Chantilly, VA. It was great! Very easy, convenient and I got to watch them shred my hard drive from my computer. They even helped me unload everything. We need more of these guys. Thanks PC Recycler for your help.
